About Us
Special Formwork combines the use of new machinery and traditional engineering principles to manufacture steel products with increased longevity and excellent output. Our moulds are designed with interchangeable ware parts, allowing our customers the option of refurbishing only the necessary elements when required. In some cases, our moulds have been known to have a lifespan of up to 30 years, should they be regularly maintained and well looked after by our clients. We manufacture special machinery and custom steel designs for many of our clients and provide high-end goods to any specification.
We believe in providing South Africa’s industries as well as private entities with well-designed, long-lasting goods and services. Our goal is to not only provide superior products, but to maintain partnerships with existing clientele and establish relationships with new businesses in this sector.
Special Formwork supplies industries nationwide and have broadened our horizons internationally. We are a fully compliant BBBEE (Level 4) firm.
History
Special Formwork was founded in 1973, by Dietrich Hoffelner and Rainer Dixel, two young Austrian engineers who set sail to South Africa and embarked on a journey of self-discovery and entrepreneurship. A firm that originated in small office space in Randburg, has since grown, almost 50 years later, into a prominent manufacturing business in the steel and brick-moulding sector.
Today the company is co-owned by Stefan Hoffelner and Lisa Jansen, siblings who endeavour to uphold company values and workmanship instilled in Special Formwork from the onset.
